Nice

I can't help but give you an A on this one, I can tell it must be a ton of work doing your cartoons on paper like that by yourself... The effort got you a whole extra point. The animation was good, completely frame-by-frame with no stops. Really, I can't exactly say I'm fond of this style for backgrounds and EVERYTHING, because I think it sort of takes away from the scenery designs, but who am I to judge, you did it and finished. Also, the song fit the animation very well, and I liked the mellow feel of it, although I can't say I'd listen to it outside of this flash. Keep it up!

Not bad, man!

I like this Minushi, definately :) especially since Newgrounds is lacking in quality original series right now. The voice acting is good, not incredibly convincing or interesting, but good nonetheless. The writing is pretty good too, I can't complain too much about that. The drawings are pretty good too. Unfortunately, Minushi's got it's flaws.
For one, I can enjoy a laid back cartoon, but this series is TOO laid back. Things move at a good pace storywise, but the movements are slight and slow (What is this, 8 frames per second??) I think the style you chose to animate this with was a terrible idea for the frame rate, and frankly, the "action" parts don't get me hype at all. Also, the character designs are waaaay too lose and inconsistent for this to be animated with a layer-separated animation technique with lots of detail on the non-moving parts. At least if there was lots of frame-by-frame, the proportional inconsistencies would make it look sweeter. Also, the music completely fails to get me interested at any time, period, the action scenes and the talking scenes could have the same downbeat music you used (which I'm assuming is for the sake of saving money you would use to buy the rights for copyrighted stuff).
With
1.more frame-by-frame and less emphasis on character 'color detail' (streaks in the hair and shading)
2.better music to get people into the moment
3.a higher framerate, and MORE ACTION and frame-by-frame during "action" scenes
This would be an instant hit. But I think you finished the whole thing already though since you're selling DVDs and know it's 19 chapters to the end, so I hope this review helps you with future flash products. Sweet cartoon, man!

P.S.: Thank you so much for using a black female lead, NOBODY does that for the sista's man.

Aaaww shit, he busted out the 'chans' and 'kuns'

Not bad, it doesn't look horrible, though it could use major work, such as voice acting and more stylized character drawings. They for some reason look like Madness characters with anime features to me for some reason.
It looks like you have an idea of what you're doing with the way things were organized, but I would say ease up on the whole Japanese culture thing...Unless you're Japanese, because I've had Japanese friends who I hadn't heard say 'chan', 'san' or 'kun' in the whole time I knew them as much as you have in this flash and author comments. It seems...Incredibly unrealistic for some reason. Maybe do something involving your own culture so it doesn't seem so forced out? Not trying to dicourage you by any stretch of the imagination, just needs major improvements. Good luck with the project, you're getting there!

Yoruichi responds:

cheers for the advise, I was going more towards anime culture than japanese....although some say there aint a difference, you pointed it out with my over-use of chans ^^ I'm also planning japanese voice-overs with the speech *bubbles* acting as subs so the chans will be acceptable. great review and thanks for your criticism, it will help a lot in my coming publishings.

Truly Entertaining

Great job man! I like the character style and the whole "red" thing, the art direction is really good and fits the mood. Even the lil' themesong. However, I just wonder if with you (or at least, from what it looks like) turning this into a series, I wonder if some of the recycled drawings like mastermind at his desk might have that "Foamy" effect and people will get tired of it. Maybe you could try expanding some of the situations even more beyond Mastermind's desk just for something fresh (Which you did a little bit here). I dunno, just a thought, people already love it, including me, so if you have to keep it like that to keep the appeal, do it to it.
Keep it up!

The-Swain responds:

I hate recycling artwork, and the only way I can forgive myself is if I include plenty of new artwork to compliment it. The Mastermind character doesn't really leave his desk (why else have an army of minions to do everything for you then?) so it's hard not to reuse a lot of the content, but I have a plan for the next episode that will free me up from that restriction. There won't be lots of camera angles and different scenes, but at least it will all be new art. :D

Ahh well, glad you liked it though!

Whaaaaat???!!!

That was cold man! I like the whole "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" blaxploitation theme, lol that was funny and no one does that with flash. Also, the amount of fBf was truly crazy, I have to give major points for the effort. It was definately funny though, and fun to watch. You included a lot of cool elements, unfortunately, the animation was really choppy at parts and needs work as far as smooth movements. Regardless, the voices, the atmosphere, everything was really good man. Keep it up!

Dammit kid, you're makin' me feel guilty!

Forewarning: I started out with something just like this and let me warn you now to stop, please for your own sake! Not stop animating, but put this storyline down, it's cliche'd, overused and people will NOT just watch it just because it's there. I know, because it's a lot like my first flashes.

Also, you're coming out way too fast, I think you need a lot of practice. You sorta shot yourself in the foot, before you submit a flash, ask yourself if it's something that you'd actually watch yourself. There should NEVER be a white background. Just some advice, no hard feelings I hope, but I think you need a lot more practice. I dont want bad reviews to discourage you and make you want to stop. Crawl before you walk, you need to learn to draw in flash before you can animate. Good luck in the future.

ZayanuZaroc responds:

thanks for the tips and the next episode will be alot better!
Also wow I didn't know someone had made the nearly exactly same thing...
even your demons was quite the same.
I saw your Devil slayer series and that was very cool!

ps. Big mack

That was the shit...Great collab!

I loved that, and no I'm not a Nintendo fan. The animation on most of them was really good, and I could tell exactly who animated most of them too. My favorite was undeniably the one when Pikachu stole Ash's hat, that shit made me cry laughin'. Sweet job, yall!

Kirbopher responds:

Glad you enjoyed it!

That shit was raw...

Only a 3.81? I thought it was really sweet. There was lots of animation and not to mention some of the BEST special effects and color mixes I've seen yet since Proxicide's SF vs MK 3. Not quite his level with that yet, but dang close. Keep it up, I liked it a lot, and it caught my attention. Would've been a perfect 10 if it were actual, drawn out characters instead of easy sticks.

Unbiased Review Regardless of the Popular Artist

I can't find any flaws with it, it was hilarious, well animated, just the right length and and had a unique style to it. This is the stuff I come here for! Keep it up, that was hilarious! A laugh at every shit.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

That was cold man! I like that a lot, and honestly, I can't really think of any complaints. The drawings were clean, the voice acting was realistic and clear (though I don't speak Russian, it sounded real lol), and I love how you used the camera movements for those semi-action scenes. Nothing was wasted here. There could have been more fBf, but you killed regardless. The music also fit really well, it was at a good volume to hear the voices, and most of all, that dude was eerily like me.
Be proud of it, this is the type of thing I come to NG to see, and it's a rare find. The thing that pisses me off is that it's below a 4.00.

Thanks a lot, I apreciate it very much)
