Dang good art work, that's for sure
The character drawings were very good, unfortunately, there was a SERIOUS lack of frame-by-frame animation. It was beautiful, but incredibly stiff. Work on that, and you'll be fine. Keep up the good work

-nod- i agree, I'll have to work on that ^^ thank you
Hah, that was the shit
I hate those stupid ads, I like how you come up with these random ass mix songs though lol The animation was cool too, it ain't Metropolis Circuit, but sweet regardless
And to the dude below me...If you can't watch it, don't give it a zero, damn. What makes people think animators are okay with a zero just to hear something irrelevant they have to say?
Your Style...Is completely RAW
I love it, your style's amazing. The animation was great, although I don't agree with your choice to embed video into flash... Have you uploaded this to youtube or anything where we can see this in better quality? Either that or just export it straight out of flash in shorts, quit torturing us.
Nice!
The character designs and art direction is cold! I love your style, it's got that messy, untamed feel to it. Also, the voice acting fits the characters, and your backdrops are just about flawless.
Thing is, there's some problems with the way it's put together in some areas. Sometimes, it looks like your characters have nothing to do with the backdrops whatsoever, you'll have people walking and it doesn't look like their feet are propelling them forward at all, just an animation and a static background that have nothing to do with each other. I hope I said that right... Also, where some of the backdrops are JPEGs, sometimes they don't fill the whole screen, and there's this white line on one side of the screen, I might just be nitpicking, but it sticks out to me... Also, I see you like having lots of shading and detail, but at times, it makes the animation suffer, I would like to see a lot more frame-by-frame that's redrawn and not just moving one static drawing.
Otherwise, it's really good! Definately stands out from most NG's stuff, though I'm not too fond of the storyline, but I won't take points off because of my own personal preferences, it is highly original and pretty well-executed. Keep it up man!
That was cold
I see there's 2 Sonic RPGs that are kinda in a rivalry, I say this one puts you on top of BlackDevilX right now. He's coming out with a new one soon too. But I much prefer this, it had a bit of cinematic value too. The voice acting wasn't very...convincing...for beings who are supposed to be powerful, but no worries, I know it's the game that matters. I like the animations, but what made me mad is that you took the Quality controls off and the effects are flash filters, bad choice, that made the animations really slow for people with normal comps. I'm not one for turn-based RPGs (not since FFX-2) but it was cool to look at regardless, and the option/battle system was hella proffessional. Keep up the good work, man!
Actually it was never my intention that rivalry you guys talk so much. Anyway, I'm just glad you like mine that much!
I think the voice acting is perfect, but thats your opinion and I respect it!
The menus really gave me some work, but I think I did a really good job :)
Thanks, I really enjoyed this comment!
Cool, could've been cooler, but cool regardless
I like it, the art direction is good, and your style is solid. Also, the music fit well, and overall, you're a good animator =), but I think there were parts that could have used work. The character style was pretty simplistic, and that usually signifies lots of full-body frame-by-frame, but you had too much layer-separated animations with one body part moving and the rest of the body still. If you ditch that and go for more complete frame-by-frame, your stuff'll be sick! Keep it up!
Not bad, better than a lot of stuff
I like original action series, so you plucked the right strings for me. Problem is, there isn't much imagination to it. It seems...Generic...to me. It seems like you just kinda decided one day, "I'm gonna make a cartoon" and didn't really put too much effort into the story. There's 3 "gods", who are supposed to be so powerful, but they give their power to some humans...because they were bored...And the humans kill them, it just doesn't stand out much. From this point, you're going to have to work very hard on improving the appeal of the story, because at this point it's pretty dead.
Also, the animation could use work, the character designs were okay, but the fighting style was way too lazy. I think people will know what I mean, and to me it kind of looks like you're riding that whole "They're INCREDIBLY so fast and strong!" excuse that DBZ uses to not fully animate a real struggle with any impact. If you're trying to make anime action, think fully animated fights with movements and lots of frame by frame (Think Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo, not DBZ) Though the fight was fast-paced which I liked. You're getting there, I still am too. Just trying to help out, good luck in the future! You have serious potential, but your stuff needs a lot more heart and soul to it. It seems to lack the piece of your spirit that should go into an artist's work.
Not bad, man!
I like this Minushi, definately :) especially since Newgrounds is lacking in quality original series right now. The voice acting is good, not incredibly convincing or interesting, but good nonetheless. The writing is pretty good too, I can't complain too much about that. The drawings are pretty good too. Unfortunately, Minushi's got it's flaws.
For one, I can enjoy a laid back cartoon, but this series is TOO laid back. Things move at a good pace storywise, but the movements are slight and slow (What is this, 8 frames per second??) I think the style you chose to animate this with was a terrible idea for the frame rate, and frankly, the "action" parts don't get me hype at all. Also, the character designs are waaaay too lose and inconsistent for this to be animated with a layer-separated animation technique with lots of detail on the non-moving parts. At least if there was lots of frame-by-frame, the proportional inconsistencies would make it look sweeter. Also, the music completely fails to get me interested at any time, period, the action scenes and the talking scenes could have the same downbeat music you used (which I'm assuming is for the sake of saving money you would use to buy the rights for copyrighted stuff).
With
1.more frame-by-frame and less emphasis on character 'color detail' (streaks in the hair and shading)
2.better music to get people into the moment
3.a higher framerate, and MORE ACTION and frame-by-frame during "action" scenes
This would be an instant hit. But I think you finished the whole thing already though since you're selling DVDs and know it's 19 chapters to the end, so I hope this review helps you with future flash products. Sweet cartoon, man!
P.S.: Thank you so much for using a black female lead, NOBODY does that for the sista's man.
