Hate to do this, but...

If you're starting out in flash, PLEASE, PLEASE practice coming up with your own characters and drawings. I can tell from this flash that you're still wet behind the ears, just invest time in becoming better at drawing your own stuff. People aren't going to want to watch sprite movies on TV or in movie theaters. In the time it'll take you to master sprite animation, you could have come up with your own original material, you're creating the story yourself anyway, at least give it a try, don't take the easy way out. It's not worth it, I don't care how much people like Alvin Earthworm's stuff on here, you'll never see it anywhere else but the net.

eternalclash responds:

Im sorry. It was me first time using that program but im really rusty. thanks for the tips, but for now i think i'll stick with sprites...

Hah, so true.

The humor and the delivery was great, it's facts that we all know I'm afraid, hehe. The art style, though it took me a second to adjust to, works, is clean and is very unique. Wouldn't do it myself lol, but you make it work.

Good job, man, and a tip for one of those question situations: When women ask you a question, they don't want to hear what you really think, they're actually asking you to reassure them of what they think. Peace.

Pretty Hilarious

I normally don't like these, but this was pretty dang funny. You guys' voice acting was amazing, hah. Good job, still would rather see original work on NG, but this was admittedly really entertaining.

A series for the freaks? Ooooohh....

Pretty cool, looks like you have animation down pat, because the frame-by-frame looked great. The character designs, okay. They need a bit of work as far as anatomy, and maybe some darker color work since that seems to be the theme here. Keep up the good work, man, got my watch.

Five-Iron responds:

Haha! I remember reading one of your posts a little while ago that you wanted your series to have a deeper meaning to it. That really helped in the developement of this idea :D

A Vinnie Fan, eh?

Well, I won't complain about it since it's your first, but the character style is incredible reminiscent of Vinnie Veritas's work. Anyway, a great first flash, the whole mechanical theme you had there really made it interesting, and the little logo transitions were really cool. Keep up the good work, you're off to a good start. Maybe work on anatomy a bit, draw arms instead of just floating hands, and try to make your own style innovations or else you're gonna catch hell from the other Newgrounders after awhile. Good job.

Aight, now!

This is the type of stuff I come to Newgrounds to see, I normally don't like Medieval stuff, but the mix of comedy and action is right up my alley. The dialogue I liked a lot, it was funny and keeps your attention, also the action was fast enough to stay interesting. There's just one thing, I can see what you're going for with the drawing style, but it just needs a little tweak of refining. If you work at making the frame-by-frame animation a little smoother, I'll have a perfect 10 waiting for the next one, and a lot more people will too. Pretty sick man, I'll definately be waiting for part 4.

akoRn responds:

It's an honor to received a review from a talented animator as you are! And also, thanks for the tips, I hope I can digest all of em, and apply em in the next episode.

I'll let u know when I've finish with it.

I kinda dig it but... Needs work

It's straight, the character drawings were good, but the animation was pretty lackluster, and I think for your style that you should probably ditch the shading and focus more on body anatomy and frame by frame. The sound was pretty low-quality, and the story (or lack there of) left me really confused.

You say it's the animated version of your graphic novel or whatever, but it tells us nothing of substance about what's going on...it's sort of just stuff happening randomly. The religious persecution, okay got it. The royal angels, okay so apparently they're the guardians for some religion, but which one? It sounds catholic, but I swear I saw one of them shoot the crooked "pope". Maybe if it told us wassup in a way that's not so vague. Don't worry, I'm guilty of it myself. Hope that helps a little bit.

wiilofgod responds:

wow..man that definitely helps....you are right about most of the stuff......it was hard to show such a complex story in the short time I was given : (
my sound is always crap and I cant help it as all I have to work is my little mac book.
but thanks for the feedback man!

That's it?

4 years of buildup and that's what it was all about? No offense, but this ending is REALLY uninteresting and anti-climactic... I was hoping there would be action or something....but...man... This story keeps you in the same mood the whole time, and could have been told much better if you had focussed the same effort into a 30-minute series...
Anyways, not too different from the others, still incredibly laid back, blah, blah, you know the rest. It looks like you don't really read the reviews people make anyway. Not trying to hoe you or anything, I'd watch this on the internet, but would NOT buy it on DVD. You dragged things out waaaaay too long.

Aight, then.

You said I should check this out, and I did. I like it! It's got your signature style and the frantic action I like seeing from your stuff.
I don't mean to be a dick, but this still doesn't satisfy my craving for Pick Up: Act 3, though lol. The graphics were great, I love your style. You do ya damn thang like like nobody else on NG, but it was missing something I love about Pick Up: The hilarious conversations where everybody's talking at the same time and interrupting each other. This held me over for the action, but I'm still waiting. I'll be patient though, hehe. Great movie, keep it up, you're on fire this year.

Skaijo responds:

Hm, talking over each other? Hilarious conversations? You may want to check out Metal Gear Yotsuba, an animation around the same time Act 2 came out.

My next project will take place in the community I presented in This is UNMEI--mainly because I still want to work out the skills and gain the experience needed to give Act 3 some justice. The way I have Act 3 planned out--I'll need the practice. It'll be worth the wait. :D

Until then--for funny convos, MGY, might be the animation up your alley.

Nice, good message too

That was pretty sick man, loved the character drawings, and the voice acting was good too. The sound came out kind of funny at the beginning of the little "Shangri La" part, and it wasn't too intricate for it to be tweenimated, but like I say all the time... It's EFFORT, something newgrounders need more of. Good job man.
