Fucking raw, I loved it

Hahaha nice. The animation was good, the drawings were hilarious like when Rtil kicked Egoraptor, he looked so pleased with himself about it and Khale looked like a troll on crack. I REALLY loved the colors. This was the shit, it should win.

Blordow responds:

lmao you made my day yungjazz thanks!

Looks damn great, but I feel like it's unnecessary

I love the character designs you did, man. They look great, which makes me wish it wasn't a fan cartoon. Regardless, fluid animation, good color choice, nice visuals period. Thing is, it's like 30 seconds and that 30 seconds isn't even completely fleshed out, I just feel like you would have been better off surprising us with the final product. But it looks like this is getting some attention, your flick, it's up to you. Lookin' forward to it.

FergusonWinston responds:

Thanks. Yea I rushed and threw this trailer together in a few days...mainly to draw attention to the contest that Im trying to win with Nicktoons for my previous film. I also wanted to see how ppl would react to what I had done, in hopes that it would give me motivation to finish. Thanks for the critique

What the hell kind of name is Tywo?

Clean drawings, good art style, nice background drawings, good voice acting, just the right length, and the pacing, I can't help but feel like this should've been on TV. Some of the humor was a bit dry though, and some of the animation and walk cycles were a bit stiff for the simplistic style, but otherwise, that was really well done. Quality flash, keep up the good work!

Pixmintro responds:

Thanks, the walk cycles were just out of my laziness and yeah, I'm still working on the humor aspect though. I probably went through 3 script drafts until I got to this one. Also the reason his name was Tywo was because his mom was SLOSHED on morphine at the time. :)

Haha, love the style.

Nice animation and color, cool idea and well set up. I won't complain about the length since it was an assignment. I can't help but feel like some parts needed more keyframes, but it was great overall. Nice job =)

Andrew-Buckley responds:

yeah i would have liked to have spent more time nutting out the key frames as well, but i decided not to add anymore in in flash because i liked just having what i did on paper in there.

thanks for the review, it was a fun style as well

This is gonna be a great series

I always love catching the start of a new series, you didn't disappoint. The animation was great, good mix of tweening and frame-by-frame, the sound was very clear, voice acting was excellent, and the story is pretty interesting. You left it very open-ended too, which is good for a first episode, I know first hand that if you try to set anything in stone with the first movie then it's awful if you decide to change your mind about anything. The movie just flowed really well. You have my watch =)

professor-fate responds:

Cheers, dude!
In this case, leaving it open was necessary. At the time, I didn't have a clue who my opponent was. XD
But in any case, it's always best to dangle a carrot in front of your audience for the next episode and don't give TOO much away!

Man, I love this series

I've watched everything up to the lizard episode on Youtube, I still haven't gotten tired of it. Clean drawings, solid animation, great voice acting, and its pretty funny too. Keep up the good work.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

they look so much better in flash though dont they? thanks!

No offense, just honesty

The drawings were very sloppy for it to be a shot at anime style, the lineart was all over the place... The animation... I'd suggest using the onionskin. The story is pretty much the same giant robot fare from the most boring of anime cartoons. The conversations are very bland and uninteresting. Also, changing the character shot and using the same background in the same position with no changes at all, all I can really say to that is 'what the hell?' Keep at flash, but I'd put a lot more practice in. Sorry if it's harsh, I animate with an amount of anime inspiration so I can't help it. Hope that helps, good luck.

AdamTilford responds:

Nah, no offense was taken. Not everyone likes a genre and it would be naive and ignorant to expect everyone too. But as an author first and an animator second I'd say hold off before judging the story as the same cliche crap, cuz it's really not. But judging from one scene I can see where one might think that. But this is also a side non-canon story based of my novels. I just upped one day and was like "I want to animate something based off my series"

Flash is all about progression for me, from the first episode to this one I am thrilled with the difference in quality. But I do see the sketchy-ness and sloppy lines, but I'll deal with that issue with the next one. I do use onionskin, mind you.

As far as the backgrounds go...yeah, I noticed that I did that after and I was pretty much like "fuck it, I'll just make sure i improve on that next time." But for no training/classes and just wanting to get into it, I'm more than content with how this came out. One can only improve with each outing.

I'll say what I said to people who replied to the first one. The next one will be ridiculously better than this one.

More of a deviantart thing...

Sorry man, you can't just come to a site that's made for cinematic flashes with looping art then say "if you dont like loops don't watch it", because people are going to watch it regardless then give it bad scores. Your eye loops look great, but don't expect any daily awards. I want to see you animate a full length flash, not just eyes.

waloumi responds:

understood ;)

Good job

It was straight, the character drawings were clean, it had okay pacing and a good length. It also had some pretty hilarious parts, like when the racoon guy set the eagle on fire.
A few things though, like for the drawings to have been so simplistic, there should have been a lot less tweening and a lot more frame by frame. (Try looking at some of Cerberusuille's stuff, I think you might be very inspired by it) and colored pencil backgrounds in flash is a no-no too, simply because there is a horrible transition between clean coloring of flash and patchy coloring of graphite (Or whatever they're made from). Also, had it's umm kinda homo parts i dunno if you intended that or not but whatever. Keep working, you're onto something.

KFoxyFox responds:

Thanks for your review, it made an interesting read. I've heard of Cerberus' stuff and am a casual fan of it, he's incredibly skilled. I've a looong way to go if I am to compete with his skill though.

In response to your critique on the pencil backgrounds, I'm going to throw that comment out - many of the best animations in the 1980s and so on were made using seperate backgrounds and I see no reason why I should not do the same. It creates a vibe of uniqueness in a good way I'd say.

As for certain "homo" parts, call it sissy if you will but don't call it gay.

Thanks for the comment.

Beautiful but stiff...

I'll start off by saying I really like the designs, and color choices. There was good art direction, and the music fit well too. I see the purpose. Problem is, it didn't move much, and when it did move it was pretty stiff, also the still shots dragged on for a VERY long time. Work on making the animation a bit smoother and timing, and you'd be a candidate for back-to-back 4.0+'s. Peace.

FoxxSerene responds:

Thanks for the critique but this definitely isn't my best work...it's really more of a goodbye present. But thanks again and i'll do better stuff soon
