Major potential, but could use SERIOUS work

I think you have a great vision of what you wanted this movie to be, man. I think it has imagination. The small details like the variation in the city and all the people and flying objects; that part I really like. The designs in mind for the characters were good, and the storyline, if nothing else, kept my attention. The problem here is that the only thing that was executed right was the ideas.

-Visuals-
You say it's your third flash, so I'll judge accordingly. First off, you could really stand to learn frame-by-frame. The tweening on the characters made them look like marionettes the whole time, and there was this constant side-profile shot going the whole time that really wears on you (especially that excruciating scene where Omega follows Trask. That was just brutally long and mundane unless you were just looking at the variation in the background...) I have to tell you that variation in key in animating, you gotta change things up if you want to be able to keep people's attention. I suggest you simplify your character designs while you're still new and work on drawing out a new shot every 8-16 seconds so it doesn't look so ameteur. Also, please NEVER use the default gradients that come with a newly opened file like the "shitty chrome" or the "bleached donut black-white radial".

-Sound-
OUCH. MY EARS. I used to struggle from a problem very similar to this where I didn't know to work with another program besides Flash for sound. This is a necessity I'm afraid. That scene at the fight club could have easily wrecked my speakers with the horribly crusty cheering, you have to watch that. I suggest going to Google right now, typing in "Audacity Download" (It's free, a small file, and legal) and learning how to make your sound volumes consistent, and don't EVER export flash without optimizing sound. You really have to work on that, you'd be surprised how it'll turn people off.

-Overall-
You've got me intrigued with the series, and I will be checking out everything Omega that comes through the portal in the future. But try watching some professional cartoons (You seem like an anime guy, check out the composition of your favorite cartoon), and practice, practice hard! I commend you for making a movie of this length, not many people are willing to do that, but keep in mind also that the quality has to be at balance with the quantity. Don't ever re-use character symbols for every shot just so that your movie can be 10 minutes long, it's not worth it. People wont want to rewatch it and neither will you. Wow, damn, you caught me on a tangent. But I'm always intrigued to see a new action series on NG, that genre of flash is dying, Kudos! Keep working, I'll keep watching.

Nah jk, aside from the overuse of that black guy symbol this was pretty kewl. The character style and drawings are nice, and it is entertaining while not particularly hilarious. I'm assuming that it's just my sense of humor though, I'm not big on medieval stuff, LOTR fans will probably love it.
Thing is all the tweening and intense layering can still cause serious lag just on simple dialogue (even despite the fact that you turned some graphics into pixel images), which makes me wonder...why the hell ad programming always deletes the quality controls... Regardless, future episodes could use some Q-control buttons. Tis all.

[Mario's Dark Past: EP. 1]

Bravo.

This was just incredible, best sprite movie ever, on Alvin Earthworm's caliber. I cried when Mario and Yoshi finally settled their 200 year clan war to come together and defeat the evils that be. It was just....wow. And the animation...the voice acting...the music, just...brought a tear to my eye. The fight scene was incredible, and the characters were 3-dimensional and heartwarming. Weede you are incredible, you have trumped your own groundbreaking flash record.

Not bad by any stretch of the imagination

This toon gives me mixed feelings. I love the short story, the dark ambience, and the backgrounds looked fantastic. I'd love to have the patience to do my BGs in Photoshop, and not alot of Newgrounders can pull that off. Unfortunately, the character animation did nothing for this cartoon. Every movement was either tweened or 'faded' in, and it made the two characters look pretty tacky compared to the pretty backgrounds. I'm not saying I'm expecting Disney-style full fBf on everything, but try mixing still frames and fBf where needed, because it's kind of hard to feel a character's intensity when their movement is so synthetic. Nice little story though.

I can definetly see what you're talking about animation wise and will take note at it into our further projects. Unfortunate enough we didn't have time to do much of the movements frame by frame like we wanted to do but next time I hope we get enough time to do what our vision was.

I was trying to remember what looked familiar about this cartoon, now I remember, you had put up a tutorial or some shit a few months ago with the steps you took to make this, well it came out great. These are definitely your best graphics yet, and though I'd like to see more fBf in your stuff and less Distortion Tool, it still looks fucking great. The voice acting, clear quality, pompous, mean and funny as hell. Your shit's as irrelevant and random as always, which is why it stands out, and why I always click it first. Keep up the great work mayne.

I'm actually kind of slow, especially if you compare it to how fast some others release stuff. But I'm just a perfectionist at heart, so all that time is spent usually fine tuning everything.
