Jules & Vincent waffles?

Great animation and color sense as usual. The song was nice, wouldn't listen to it in the car, but the cartoon flowed very well. The animation wasn't incredibly smooth, but it did go perfectly with the animation and I really can't see where much improvement could have been made without nitpicking. I'd be ashamed of myself if I gave you points for referencing my second favorite movie of all time, Pulp Fiction in the end there hehe.

I don't think it's your best work, Freetown's more my thing, but this was a happy 3 minutes or so. I didn't like the still pic montage too much, but I completely agree with the message that you make sure to remind us of often lol. Good color choice, as usual, and nice animation....
DOESNT BREAK DOWN WALLS THO "JACK", waitin' for that freetown 2.

So you're making a series out of Angry Dog...

Great move man, I loved the original and this one's great too. The character drawings were good, the animation was solid, and the humor was incredibly dry but it has this charm about it that I love. It's a usual thing for your movies. Keep up the great work.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks, hope you like the next six as much!

Not bad, kept my attention

I've seen worse, also seen better. The graphics have potential, but the animation is incredibly annoying because of the over-use of tweening. There was little to no frame-by-frame here. I'll watch the series though because I'm interested in the story. Good job, good luck =)

AGG-ArtistGamerGal responds:

yeah i totally agree. I need to do work on making a happy combination of frame by frame AND tweens.

BTW- i looked at some of your stuff, VERY COOL! :3

I normally don't like this type of thing on NG

But since you typically make original content, and it's for a contest, I'll give it the B.O.T.D. The drawings were funny caricatures, and the animation was smooth, though there wasn't much except for moving lips. I can't rightfully give you credit for the comedy factor, but the drawings did help so it worked out. Nice flash for a laugh, but not quite epic.

I dare you to do something original.

You don't see Mario flashes that often.... IMO, it's just not funny. I love Pablo Francisco, but seeing Nintendo characters lip-synching his standup didn't make it any more funny. It's about as fun and original as those Naruto fan-flashes and "randomness sessions" that the portal farts out every once in awhile. I dare you to make your own original thing, just try it. No, wait, you won't do it, because videogame or Naruto characters will always get your flashes a whole point more than the effort warranted. (What should be a 2.73 will become a 3.73 with new magic cerum, familiarity!) Sorry, I know its all just a joke to you, but some people here actually love animation and like seing new things instead of the same old recycles ideas.

Entertainng take on the story

This cartoon definately had cinematic value. The character concepts were good, and so were the voices. Unfortunately the animation was a bit weird because instead of drawing out more keyframes, you kinda just stretched ones that were already drawn and that was a bit odd. But the cartoon was great, and watchable, which is more credit than I can give most stuff that's been coming in lately.

Needs serious work, but I love your vision

This flash had good action, though the whole elemental thing seemed too reminiscent of Avatar. Your shot ideas and setups are actually very well done, especially your music choice for this and last chapter, however, you have work to do on your anatomy drawings as well as animation in some areas. Also, this story is incredibly vague, but it's all good, because with time and work I can see this becoming something excellent. Keep up the good work, it's going somewhere man.

Wasn't horrible, but could've used some clean-up

I hate seeing cartoons with this problem, because it's so simple to fix. I know you see the fact that the backgrounds don't cover the whole screen, why didn't you just enlarge the backgrounds, man? Simple select and free transform, what the heck? Also, there was a lack of frame-by-frame that resulted in the characters moving like marionette puppets, and fan art never warrants anyone to call it their own creation, because the character is still stolen from somebody else.

Leviathan-Ran responds:

Not what I meant, it's just my take on the design of metal sonic.

You're aware that you took the easy way out

So I guess there's no point in re-iterating that. I think the presentation was really good. The music fit the whole neo-mystic feel, the animation was solid and it was good overall. Needs a little anatomy work on some parts.
But you really didn't have to sell out like that and use other people's characters, no offense, but that's not testing your potential as a creator, it's just an easy way out. Requires no character molding and gets attention with hardly any work, plus familiarity points. Maybe you'll get the hint eventually, your stuff's good, but that really took it down a notch because with those stolen characters, I know nothing about you (I should be able to in your characters), and there's no piece of your soul in them.

Grey-Matter responds:

I like that. You came at me correct. So, I can talk to you like a fellow animator. Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I really like your work too and in the short time I have been here on Newgrounds, you're one of the people who I have noticed have advance so quickly, besides Chakra-X. You're probably right about the effort part with the designing of the characters. See, the reason why I under went this project is because I feel you're going to take someone's character and use it in a story, at least "try" to tell a story with them and not reduced it to a simple gay or fart joke. Think of it like Marvel's story "Civil War" for example. All of those characters are owned by Marvel.Inc, but it was Mark Millar's writing that brought that brilliant story to life. True, I'm not get paid to do it, but just being able express my thoughts for these characters and animate something for myself, plus learning more about how to animate,is pay enough. In the industry, you don't get a lot of opportunity to express a cool idea, because you're hard at work busy bring someone else's dream to life. Besides, this is just another outlet for me.As artists, you know we all wear different hats. My hat for this project is anime. I'm currently working both this series and my original series "The Hive", and thanks to the advancements I learned while undergoing this project, I have learned much to improve both. Again, thanks for the advice and good luck to you on your projects. I looking forward to seeing your stuff.

Later.
