dude you gotta watch the japanese version of soul eater. Im with you in the fact that the english dub of soul eater sucks, but if your gonna judge anime by the english dubs then im sorry to say your not gonna find a lot of quality.
the dub is only a small thing about soul eater that i don't like. in the japanese dub, they still stop in the middle of fights to discuss their powers with the enemy, the humor is really conservative, cautious and japanese, and it's 25 episodes longer than it should be for the strength of the story and the quality of the action scenes. (For example, the really impressive action might be 10-15 seconds every 2 episodes). To its credit, sometimes the animation looks fucking fantastic, like the first fight between Maka and Jack the Ripper, and Tsubaki vs her brother. Also, the little halloween world they live in is awesome, but other than that I find myself multitasking while I'm watching.
