NG Animators that Inspire Me

Posted by JazLyte - December 10th, 2009

I was just looking through some old works on NG that I watched before I started flashing and it made me feel sentimental so I decided to post some shit people won't read about the flashers that inspire me. Hopefully some of them will read this post, get off their asses, and MAKE SOME NEW SHIT. Luv ya!

Arrogancy
This guy is the reason my Necropolis exists on NG so go thank him if you like my shit. His animated series named after his username was the first thing I ever saw on NG. I was 11 years old. That was fucking 8 years ago, seriously. Also, he's from the D too, that was pretty kewl.
LenZ
The creator of the EgoCity series who pretty much mentored me from a distance when I first started out.
LifePoint1
Say what the fuck you may want to about LifePoint1, XIN was better than TV for me in it's hayday. I would beat somebody's ass to see them make a Season 3.
Xero-Shift
Even though this dude disappeared (Cry) I pretty could watch S.I.N. over and over, I don't know why. It's just something every anime-ish flasher needs to see at least once, it's like nobody knows he exists.
Zombie-Pimp
This guy pretty much is the level of animator I'm trying to compete with. His fight scenes are fucking amazing.
LeafWorthy
Story of Khale is one of the best things to hit the flash scene. That shit needs a movie.
Dizimz
The concept of my first series DevilSlayer was ripped from Fear Unlimited which was ripped from Devil May Cry. Nobody seemed to say anything about it, lol I don't know why. Maybe you guys were too busy looking at it's similarities to the Boondocks (Shiver >_<).

Now fellow animators, here is your homework. If you're not lazy, make a FP Post about your flash inpererer...rers... If you can't FP Post, comment it here, or blog it then link me to it in a comment or some shit...Iunno. Do something to distract me from making a Xenophobe animated series.

NG Animators that Inspire Me

Comments

something you might be interested in, Although not exactly NG animators but we over at the Art Forum started a thread to compile videos and art that inspire us.

might want to give it a look

Oh cool. I'm not typing anymore tonight tho lol

yah you aint on my list either >:C

haha, Leathworthys the biggest thing to hit this site in a long Time, totally inspirational. and Zombie just keeps moving up the ranks faster than you can blink, im really proud of him.

I know I'm not, I can't even get a 7/10 outta you :P But agreed.

Um, remember when I did that one animation and you copied it and I didn't sue you? I can still sue you.

O_o
<_<
>_>
...jesus juice...

thanks buddy, I hope to be able to come out with more stuff soon. Oh and in case you missed my review, great work on your latest flash, you really have potential to go places with your story and universe. We're all looking forward to what you come up with next.

I sure did miss it, damn (Going review-digging). Thanks man!
Also, don't think you're going to get away easily without making a Limiter Removal series. C'moooon >:(

XIN was the bomb, still love it.

Leafworthy's a huge favorite of mine; I really hope he can dish out more Khale/Gangsta Bean/whatever asap. And Zombie has actually been an artist that I've become more and more interested in as well. So pretty much what Mindchamber said.

Along with that I'd have to say my other main favorites are HappyHarry, Sexual Lobster, and Marc M (for humor obviously). I have many others but I don't feel like listing them all.

Hey dat SIN flash was the first thing I ever voice acted in that wasnt my own shit yee

anime eats floppy disks

Indeed it does. But yet I still get a kick out of it somehow. Perhaps I eat floppy disks as well.

well,a lot of artist had inspired me,here's some of tham:
Yotam Perel-makes me proud to live at Israel.one of the funniest artist on newgrounds!
moosh-a great anime artist, and the one that make me to start using flash

I hate anime, yet still love the 2nd season of XIN. It'so fun.

Most Japanese anime and American cartoons suck ass because both are ruled by money and mediocrity. Even though I'm an American cartoonist and always will be, I still like taking inspiration from both. I GO BOTH WAYS.

i thought Xin was awful and cliched and badly animated and stupid even when i was like 14

but lifepoint1 made a cool point and click game once that i really enjoyed

also i fucking LOVE leafworthy hes def. got a bright future ahead of him

YOUR SERIES IS FOR NEGROS !

Lol you're late. No shit sherlock.

i need to ass a daily or some shit so i can fp post, i fuckin lost it for no reason a few months ago because ng is shit

anyway the ~~~newgrounds animators~~~ that ***inspired*** my !!!quality internet cartoons!!! are uh

tnoat and squeef

and uh yeah that's all

also maybe neil cicierega but he's been a useless unfunny piece of shit since like 2004 so ehhh

leafworthy is good as money

and zombie pimp is pretty nice as well!

im not that familiarwith the rest of em

I guess I should confess that I must be into taking up some disk space too because I'm a big fan of your work and I've seen Ninja Scroll too many times.

Good post. My turn:

When I first started out..ie...just discovered Newgrounds...my biggest inspirations were :

LegendaryFrog : I liked his cartoons and humor back in the day. He had good stuff and I wanted the level of success he had on Newgrounds. It seemed cartoons were awesome to make and it peaked my curiosity. Plus the idea of making parodies appealed to me at that time (and still do, though on a lesser level).

Super Flash Bros : For similar reasons. They made funny cartoons, had good success, and were good at a variety of mediums (tweening, fbf, games). Plus they had the first tutorials I ever looked at. I owe my first flash movie to them.

John and Richie : Similar reasons still. They made great cartoons and I wanted that ability.

As you can see...my early inspirations were not so much about technique, but their style and what they made, not how they made it.

XIN was fucking awesome. That was a series that I would find myself staying up all night watching from Episode 1 to the finish. I loved the fight scenes.
Another classic movie back in the day was Moonlight. It was a good mix of quick story and action that I wanted to make. It was another inspiration that made me learn flash.

As I finally started to learn flash I started looking at artists for their technique rather than what they made. How they made it started to be my main concern.

Mindchamber and JohnnyUtah were good examples. Tankmen in particular inspired me with how it did comedy in a good style. And Mindchamber's various Pico flashes were just sex to me.

These days it's the fbf artists that I give the most respect too. Zombie-Pimp and Hulalaoo in particular. The fact that they make most of their movies fbf is amazing and what I try to do with my movies. I love fbf and the fact they've mastered it inspires me to get better.

Of course there were many others that I forgot, so to whoever they are, you rock.

Oh yeah...to be a complete whore (but not really) you're skill with atmosphere is something I want to emulate. Plus your work with Vcam is something I've tried to put in my movies, along with some of your coloring style. Your artwork kicks ass.

~dirtshake~

Where am i on that list?! come on jazz!!!

jk dude ^^

That's a great Idea for a post man, I'll definitely make a blog about past artists that inspired me, maybe next week lol.
I'd have to say, all the artists you put on the list all KICK ASS, It sucks that some of them just up and dissapeared or simply quit. Who knows? maybe someday they'll come back for a visit lol
