And I was fine with them making Aang look like some chubby Asian kid, but they changed his name to Ong. Ong sounds like some minor character who'd occasionally appear in Avatar.

I have a feeling M. only saw random scenes of the series and tried to make it into a movie, like whoever though up Dragon Ball Evolution.

Called it.

The worst part; THIS ISN'T THE END OF THEM. I'll need to double-check my sources, but apparently they're making a movie for each...what is it, book (whatever they called each season).

Granted, I'm not that big of a fan of Shamalamalamalan's films, but...come on, don't butcher the next one.

The movie's characters don't even look like the cartoons. I think the one that did Zuko should really be Sokka.

Apparently M Night referred to this as "the next Star Wars". What a fucking tool.

I'm not even sure if it's even possible to make a good movie out of 20 episodes of content. I had a feeling it would be mediocre when I saw the trailers, but I'm still pretty surprised that people said it turned out to be THIS bad. I may end up seeing it to get some good laughs, though since slow motion is the most annoying overused cliché in a lot of recent movies, I may end up getting annoyed.

Also, I can't believe they switched the races of the main characters and villains around. There are many times where it's unintentional, but this seems so obvious that's pretty fucking pathetic. Hacsev brings up a good point; the actor casted as Zuko could have played Sokka.

I Like how Katara and sokka are played by White people.

I should of not put my hopes up, its Hollywood anyways.... It's just, that they raped the meaning behind the ONLY cartoon that actually had me hooked on. Disappointing.

Being a huge fan of the series I can easliy say I was beyond dissappointment when I heard that they were "recreating" the first book into a movie. It was probably obivious that Nick would sell it out eventully but it still doesn't mean you could of made it a bit descent. But after hearing the "Blaming" reviews in just a few hours of it's release well then that's about it for my hopeful expectations.

:( shitty! you shoulda gone to eclipse haha

remakes never turn out right, prince of persia made me puke. i just hope that eventually hollywood will get it right

Shit,I was about to plan to go see that movie next week.
Nah,I think I'll hold out for Predators.Maybe that'll be decent.

Lol, SUKO SUCK

The movie should of just been animated in my opinion. Putting out a live action version of one of the greatest animated series this decade just belittles the efforts of great hand drawn animation. Seriously...its as if they said "Hey it was a good cartoon then it should be an awesome movie" . That kind of thinking is sad and will be the downfall for this flick..

Ps. I'm def not a fan of making the brown folks bad guys and the white folks good. BS

I dunno why everyone is chiming in on this. Honestly people, the last GOOD movie I saw Hollywood make was District 9. Really though, how can it be any surprise to anyone that everything Hollywood touches becomes shit. It's practically moved from a theorem to a law.

ok so you pretty much broken down the entire movie in different parts but you skipped one thing, the music and sound effects.
how were they, it might be foolish but to me a movie can be good or bad depending on background music and sound effects
ex. lybanon: barely any music, hard to live in the dialogues and scenes.
lord of the rings: music carried you away in almost every scene and all music was selectfully chosen across all 3 movies

Im disappointed. I loved the avatar. I was like the only one in my whole state besides like 2 other people that thought it was awesome.
Everyone else just passed it off as some silly nick show. But I loved the idea,
and it was all well made. I also thought Zuko and Iroh were the most interesting, but Sokka also had his moments of funny. I trust your judgement and am already sad about this movie. When that other movie Avatar came out, I was outraged that it took its name, cuz it had gotten my hopes up only seeing the name. Then I see trailers for Last Airbender, and it was a mixture of hopeful and the sense that they're gonna fuck it up.
It is so discouraging. Nothing is kept sacred.
Im not gonna even bother going to the movie now to see it.
GODDAMMIT

You dont see Teen Titans getting this bullshit.

That sums it up nicely if ya ask me

Hah! I knew it. I was never really hyped for it, I just had a sinking feeling that it wouldn't match up with the awesomeness taht was the animated cartoons

never does. never does.
