Yeah, really sucks that action animations are such a rarity nowadays. It's almost always about making generic games, or half-assed flashes that are funny. I guess all it takes is alittle inspiration, If we keep putting out more action flashes, maybe it'll catch on

I do remember when all those action flashes were beautiful to look at back then. I mean, you see small random gems of action, such as that one pokemon flash that was a Lucario and a Steelix fight. And then a good shiny gem known as not another sprite fight by Short-factor. I do wish someone could revive the action back. I mean I could help, but I had to dump my old project due to my artist pooping out on me and then me not having enough time to learn flash better, but what can you do.

I'm working on Steve 4 at the moment, which begins with a fight using kitchen utensils in a packed cafeteria and ends with a fist-fight on top of a moving a truck. I can't say when it'll be done but you should hopefully be like 'DAYUMN' and 'OMG ACTION' when you see it.

Isn't Krinkels almost done with the new madness flash>_>? and anyways , back then it was easier to create an idea that would please everyone , but the ideas made this time around were mostly like stolen or referenced back in the good old days its not just newgrounds , almost everything because stuff now wasn't as good as before

Yeah I feel ya man. Action animations are becoming a dieing breed. Hopefully SOMEONE can turn that around. These animators need to step up and evolve

Honestly? Action movies take absolutely ages to be worth it, especially if you latch to a series you need to be patient to get your fix. Things like the Madness series and Mario bros Z (it's sprite but very well done) only come out once in a blue moon and the action genre lost a corner stone with the death of Ben Spurgin who did stick slayer

I recently put Madness: Rising and WTF_ACTION back at the top of my favorites list without even thinking about them both being action movies... A lot of times when we feel something, it really means that A LOT of people are feeling it... So there probably IS a huge unrecognized desire for action Flash right now. The next guy to make a good one could hit big!

I've been visiting here forever too and I agree with what you've noticed. I think what everyone has stated about how it is easier to make comedy than action is valid but I think writing is a factor for some people. What I've noticed over the years is that more and more people are trying to include good writings in their movies, regardless of genre. Personally I love that movies on Newgrounds are trying to include a great, or at least a semi-good plot, but it probably has an effect on the lack of action flashes.

As already stated by a few people, it is harder to include a good plot to an action flick. I know when I try to write a script or story for something that is an action based series, I always think of the fight scenes first and then try to string them together with a plot, which can lead to the generic action flick see on here and in Hollywood. Action scenes work best when they compliment the story and not make up the story. Those are the action movies I would rather see.

Of course comedy and action can work great together too, hence my flash that hopefully will come out this summer. Speaking of that flash...

now that I think about it, action is probably the most fun to animate, anything with lots of exaturated movement, and minimal standing still moments.
